Increase in Repossessions 2009
When our
family home was repossessed last year, I started the website
www.the-repossessed.com
to help people who found themselves to be in a similar situation as
ourselves. The website is now is visited, on average, by 20,000 people
each day. The Armstrongs were the first family in the U.K. to repossess
their home and squat in it over Christmas, which earned me the title of
‘The Repo Man’ and attracted media attention. The figures today, as
reported by the Council of Mortgage Lenders, that repossessions for the
first 3 months of this year are up by 50% on last year, perhaps explains
the popularity of the repossessed website.
